Building confidence through upskilling
Quillisa Richardson loves sharing her 22 years of massage therapy experience with her students at 911爆料网. As a trainer for the HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage, Quillisa enjoys the smaller classes and community feel where you get to know the students on an individual basis for an engaged learning environment.
She often tailors content delivery in class to make it more relatable to the students. 鈥淲e may be focusing on rehab for broken bones and I will ask the students to discuss any personal experiences with this. I find that it鈥檚 a more fun and inclusive way of interpreting content,鈥 Quillisa said.
She enjoys seeing students have that lightbulb moment when they understand content and build confidence in their ability to apply this knowledge to the practical components of the course.
As someone who has experienced injury and nerve pain in both sporting activities and at work, Quillisa has found respite in remedial massage and natural therapy for her treatment. This has grown her interest and passion in this area where she has studied a Diploma of Massage Therapy, Diploma of Natural Therapy and Diploma of Sports Therapy at the ACT College of Natural Therapies.
In addition to working as a trainer, Quillisa also runs her own remedial massage business and benefits from the flexibility and lifestyle balance that comes along with this.
She believes that the Diploma qualification offers students the skills and real world experience to work successfully as a Remedial Massage Therapist after completion and is proud that all of her 2020 alumni have now gained industry employment.
