Stand Tall Sista
Students of the Alesco Senior Colleges across the region, will be able to undertake self-defence classes in 2019 as part of initiative of local charity Got Your Back Sista and the nib Foundation.
The Stand Tall Sista classes are currently run by the charity as part of its work to support women who are starting their lives again after escaping domestic violence. After meeting with the Alesco team, CEO Got Your Back Sista, Melissa Histon, suggested an initiative that would see the program roll out into the colleges. The nib Foundation funded program is designed to assist young women to identify potential situations early and to be confident and capable in a dangerous situation.
